USA41018 Posted September 27, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 27, 2012 Cruised beginning of July and the Platinum logo gift was the binoculars. Does anyone know what the current logo gift is. We are cruising again in 2 weeks.
pinkbugs471 Posted September 27, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 27, 2012 I was on the Freedom the first week of September. The gift was still the binoculars.
okgirl Posted September 27, 2012 #3 Share Posted September 27, 2012 Cruised beginning of July and the Platinum logo gift was the binoculars. Does anyone know what the current logo gift is. We are cruising again in 2 weeks. I saw a review from a cruise last week and it was the binoculars. It can vary depending on what ship you are on and if they are transitioning between gifts......I'm on the Conquest this Sunday and don't have their binoculars yet, but I doubt they will be better than the pair I carry with me...... I'm finally getting rid of the last 3 spare picture frames that we've received over the years......I think we probably had 12+, and I know we had 6 coolers and at least that many thermoses.......oh and 2 backpacks.. The only gift we never got was the pen and notepad set....I would really liked to have received that one.
camper49 Posted September 27, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 27, 2012 Kinda wondering what the gift will be in Jan. on Destiny. She will be almost at the end of her journey...they might clean house....and give whatever they have...

popsec Posted September 27, 2012 #7 Share Posted September 27, 2012 I'm sure it will be the binoculars for quite a while to come. We cruise 6 to 7 times a year so 12 binoculars a year is way too many......sure wish they offered a choice
SkyMaster Posted September 27, 2012 #8 Share Posted September 27, 2012 "Paradise" a couple of weeks ago was also binoculars. Sure beats the pen and paper set! :D "SKY"

Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted September 27, 2012 #11 Share Posted September 27, 2012 Binoculars... if you don't own your own pair (nobody would pay for these toys), then I suppose they're better than nothing. Though since the gift is intended for frequent cruisers, it's almost guaranteed that many people will be receiving these more than once. They either need to swap out these baubles a couple of times each year or give something which is more useful (drink coupon, photo coupon, a few bucks OBC, etc...) These "gifts" are, at least IMHO, are about as desirable as dancing waiters! Tom

Rare Tom-n-Cheryl Posted September 27, 2012 #13 Share Posted September 27, 2012 Hey Tom , I was wondering if Diamond got a different gift... Hey Dennis - nope, Diamonds receive the same gift as Platinum guests - though ours are silver plated (it figures that they would not spring for Platinum plating). (OK - just kidding on the plating) :D Tom
kicia Posted September 27, 2012 #14 Share Posted September 27, 2012 I'm sure that the binoculars will be the gift for a while since they don't change them very often. I did make mention in the Diamond VIFP survey a few days ago that there needs to be more variety in gifts or give us a choice of what we want. People that are Diamond and even Platinum cruise more often so we get multiples of gifts. I understand that it needs to be something with a Carnival logo so it won't be drink coupons, etc. but choices would be good.

To us, this is the best Platinum gift we have received.

I think the drink/photo coupons say Carnival on them... that's good enough for me! :D (LOL - I recall hearing about that survey... another one I never received!) Tom These people at Carnival marketing aren't stupid........they know full well that those of us that cruise frequently and providing them with virtually free advertising when we give away those logo items........ Maybe I'll start selling them on the ship......you think $5 would go over well????? I could take that $5 and put it in a slot machine and maybe get lucky!!!!!!!!!!!!!1:p
Rare mizLORInj Posted September 27, 2012 #18 Share Posted September 27, 2012 It was binoculars on Glory earlier this month. They work well and are nice and compact. IMO there are better logo items for them if they want free advertising.

misguidedangel Posted September 27, 2012 #21 Share Posted September 27, 2012 I got the binoculars on the cruise I just got booted off last Saturday. I only have 13 cruises. I have one picture frame (would like a few more), a six-pack cooler, a notepad/pen, and the latest binocular. I know those who cruise a lot have so many multiples, but remember those of us who are new to Platinum and can only cruise once a year......
