Food Review - Allure of the Seas 9/23/12

Recommended Posts

Good job. I am going on Allure in December. Me and the Mrs have decided that we will try a few of the specialist food joints. What ones would you say are the best value and the best grub.

Hey guys, just got off the Allure of the Seas and have plenty of pictures of the new menu deliciousness my party encountered on board. I'll throw together pictures of the food, the menus, some comments on the meals, and maybe a few misc from the rest of the cruise.

If you have any questions about anything allure, feel free to ask. This is my second trip aboard so I will try my best to answer!

beachesatnormandy, I am enjoying your posts so much. The way you are showing the menu and then show pictures right after the post is very easy to understand. Keep up the excellent work!

I can't wait to get on the Allure and try these delicious meals.

I went on the ship with my best friend and his family. They ate at 150 Central Park, so I can ask him about that. But I've eaten at Chops, and Giovani's. I will be posting the pictures from Giovani's later, as well as the ones from 150.

Hopefully our little bit of insight and pictures can help you make decisions along with the guides that another person linked below.

i will be on allure oct 28 we booked the allure choice package ,now i am seeing all the good food in the mdr what nights would you skip the mdr or should i get my money back and eat in the mdr every night!!

Hm, well I didn't think the last two nights were amazing in terms of variety. But you will see that when I post the menus. Also, when we had specialty dinning events, we went to the MDR early (MyTime) and shared the items that we couldn't pass up. And then ate a late specialty dinner.

We didn't want to miss any of the dinning experiences :)

Creamy Roasted Garlic Soup - I am a huge garlic fan, and this was very overwhelming in smell. My friend however devoured it, and said the soup was ideal for garlic lovers.

Chilled Strawberry Bisque - So yummy, no other words.

Garlic Tiger Shrimp - I personally ate this every night on my first cruise on the Allure, and could do that again this cruise. Sadly it was only offered on Day 3. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, and the garlic butter made the dish so savory.

Sticky Bread and Butter Pudding - There are not words. This was hands down my absolute favorite dessert from the entire cruise, even beat the canolies. The bread was not saturated but crisp and moist at the same time. I even asked for it again the next night.

Dessert Sampler - This was an interesting plate. The strawberry jelly was actually much better than anticipated.

I was on the 9/16 sailing with the new menu as well. The only night I would recommend specialty dining is the last night. My wife swears by the bread pudding desert! My favorite of the week was the grilled t bone veal chop. The rack of lamb and veal oscar were pretty good too!

Your pictures have me thinking twice if I should do specialty dining at all.

I have a question, are you sure about day 3? I thought that menu was on day 4, or at least thats what I read in this forum in another thread.

I think they are switching days around. Because we were given the dessert menu titled Day 5 on Day 4 and we asked our waiter about it and he said it was correct.

We had the garlic/Pimento items on Haiti, which was Day 3. And then Shiitaki items on Day 4, which was Jamaica.

I too am rethinking the need to do the specialty restaurant although we will probably do chops one night.

One question not related to food. Did they show Grease on the big screen? Thanks in advance.

I personally thought Chops was best for the money anyways :P

And yes they had a Grease Sing a long on one of the later days out in the AquaTheatre.
