M-Class (Constellation) C2 vs. C3

Considering squeezing in a quickie on the Constellation before Christmas and noticed that the C2 cabins are a whole $26 more than the C3's. On both deck 8 and 9 the dividing point is midship (where the C3's are towards the aft, and the C2's are forward of that point).

On both deck 8 and 9, at least on the deck plans, it appears that the C2 balconies are slightly larger than the C2's. Is that really the case, or if not, what is the reason for the different category/price? Is forward considered superior to aft? (not in my book, but who knows about theirs!)

Balconies are the same size as are the cabins. Pricing is the only difference based on someone's idea do what they can charge more for....ignore the categories and just pick the cabin you want.

As I assumed - thanks.

I did just notice that many more of the C3's are connecting cabins. I have been in a couple of connecting cabins on ships, and have experienced a bit more noise coming into our cabin from our neighbors compared to having solid walls.

We upgraded for that small amount to cabin 8086, as it's across from an inside cabin but doesn't have anyone going in and out of that inside cabin on our side. (the doors to the insides are on the other side of the ship)

Figured that would make it nice and quiet across from us, and for $20 more for 3 of us it worked!

I was looking at all the cabin numbers as I usually do, and 8086 caught my eye - if only for its Intel reference/meaning! I, for whatever reason, am drawn to cabin numbers that make some connection (everything else being equal)!!

I noticed that there were a lot of cabins still available on that 12/20 sailing. It's no wonder the Blue Chip Club just emailed me yesterday with a "free cruise" offer (though I would have to pay the difference from a lower category).

I was also favoring those port side C2's for that very reason (interiors open into starboard side hall).

Decisions, decisions! We already took them up on another "free" cruise for New Year's. Can't believe what they are getting for cabins on the Reflection for that 12/29 sailing... OUCH!

Wow, Tom, a free cruise? How do you get those offers??

We booked this cruise quite a while ago and it was a lot more expensive. Fortunately I check prices regularly and we were able to save over $700 for our 2 cabins!

...

"All" that it takes is showing them that you are prepared to lose thousands in the casino.

After our first 4 night sailing on the Century (in 2008) I received an email from the Blue Chip Club offering a 10 night Thanksgiving cruise on the Constellation. After years of sailing Carnival with barely a "thank you" for my play (and "donations"), this was like a breath of fresh air! I took them up on the "free" cruise. Their goal, of course, is to entice those back who they think might play at a high enough level - so that they lose enough to justify the offer. A couple of times their bet has paid off, a couple of times I ended up taking money home!

At least with that upfront offer I am "ahead" before I even start, so to speak... and since I am going to play anyway, that is icing on the cake! :)

Talk about a "small world"!

I just received this offer from NCL (I called them and told them they were a little late)! :D

I'm thinking that both NCL and Celebrity are having much slower bookings for the holiday period than they were expecting. I have never seen this many offers over Christmas... from EITHER line!!

Don't book 8102 which has a smaller balcony and is over looked. On our cruise last week the washing gantry was parked in front of 8100.

I wonder if they usually park it there (8100). That was actually one that I was considering!!

On my last cruise, we wanted connecting cabins. We booked 8 months out. All of the C3 were booked. We booked 8137/8139 both C2 on Summit. 8141 was a C3. The only difference was that 8141 was cheaper. On other sailings, our cabins had been in cat. c3. Seems that on Summit, several cabins have had their category changed to a higher level. Nothing changed inside the cabin. It was just a way to increase the price. If you book and there are C3 open, book them.

Well, that won't ever happen for us then! We rarely play more than $10 in the casino!! Great deal if you do gamble anyway tho!

We're considering the same cruise although are sorry that there aren't any Aqua Class on Connie. Should we just get a balcony room (s) or should I upgrade to concierge class?

And are you booking through Celebrity itself or using on online TA?

A little of both really... Their casino department (Blue Chip Club) sent an email my way with the offer of this cruise as a "freebie" - less fees/taxes. That's the same way that I booked the Reflection a few weeks ago!

We opted for Aqua Class on the Reflection - and looking forward to dining in Blu.

I LOVE their smoke free casino (especially on the Solstice class ships)!

I am watching the 4 day leaving on 12/20 on the Constellation as well, so I may end up seeing some of you onboard in a couple of months! I'm not as familiar with Celebrity. I am Diamond status on RCI, and with the exchange privileges this would make me Elite on X. Does Celebrity offer balcony/suite discounts similar to what Royal offers its C&A members?

Not to my knowledge - though you may enjoy the 90 minutes (per elite guest) free internet as well a some other perks:

Hope to see you there!

Be careful on the cabins 8139, 8141 on the Summit (which I think is the same layout), the crew staff doors make be across the hallway. We are in 8147 and 8145 is across from a service door. Am hoping we do not hear the door shutting from our cabin. If anyone is aware of this layout, let me know.
