The "Peace Boat"

Would one of you who is not paying for internet by the minute post a bit about this ship for us.

Peace Boat is a Japan-based international non-governmental and non-profit organization that works to promote peace, human rights, equal and sustainable development and respect for the environment. Peace Boat seeks to create awareness and action based on effecting positive social and political change in the world. We pursue this through the organization of global educational programmes, responsible travel, cooperative projects and advocacy activities. These activities are carried out on a partnership basis with other civil society organizations and communities in Japan, Northeast Asia, and around the world. Peace Boat carries out its main activities through a chartered passenger ship that travels the world on peace voyages. The ship creates a neutral, mobile space and enables people to engage across borders in dialogue and mutual cooperation at sea, and in the ports that we visit. Activities based in Japan and Northeast Asia are carried out from our seven Peace Centers in Japan.

When we came through here on the first leg it looked like there was a Yacht Club to the left of the Terminal Area so we went looking for it.

It turned out to be a nice restaurant so we had a light lunch. They had WiFi!

We recommend the free Jade Museum.

They has air conditioning and lots of interesting displays about the history of Jade in the area. They also had an excellent Video on the story of finding the Mayan's original source of jade.

After we returned to the ship we cooled down, took a nap, and went to see the movie "Battleship" in the Masquerade Theater on Decks 5 & 6 forward.

The movie was fun but certainly not Academy Award material. Lots of noise and explosions and evil alien machines. No sex at all other than the obligatory good looking babe strutting her stuff whenever they could work it in to the story line.

We had dinner in the Windjammer again. Judith likes the variety there and I do to.
Wow, the photos of the textiles and weavings for sale had my fingers itching to touch. The colors are so vibrant and beautiful! Thank you from a quilting and fabric junkie. :)
Having been to this port, I can tell you that even though the pictures are so beautiful and vibrant, being there is something else! The colors just jump out at you!

This was one of my favorite ports from our PC cruise last year!

Some Cruisers pay to swing from trees on cables and some pay to post on the Internet.

It is all about enjoyng what we like to do on a cruise!
