Whale watching - VIP experience?

So the Dominican Republic board is dead and I can't find the answer anywhere. Has anyone ever done the VIP whale watching at Vista Mare? How does it compare to the whale watching expedition? It sounds like at Vista Mare you aren't on a boat? How are you seeing them then? So confused! :confused:

I would think you are up high in one of the buildings off the resort looking out into the water.

 

They had a place like this in Cabo, San Lucas when we saw whales from a resort's restaurant up high .
