Plans changed, need ideas

Ok,

So we cancelled our delta flight. Long story short it was supposed to leave at noon, then they put us on one that left at 1:55 getting us to FLL waay later than I wanted on a Friday evening with still having to drive to Miami. Re-booked with southwest and our direct flight from chicago will get us to FLL at 10:05 am and from there we are taking a shuttle to Miami. So we are pretty much going to have a whole day in Miami instead of just an evening.

Question is: Is there anything else to do around the Holiday Inn POM other than biscayne marketplace? I think we will go to the mall at some point that day, but would like to have other options. We will need lunch and dinner in Miami now and we are looking for something fun to do that is close to the hotel. Either within walking distance or a short cab ride. We really don't want to spend a ton of our budgeted vacation money on taxis!

Agree that you need to head over to Miami BEACH/ South Beach. There are also water tours of the bay islands, Duck tours (land to water) that you could pick up in South beach or even at Bayside Marketplace. You are correct that you don't want to spend the whole day in downtown Miami.

You could go to South Beach on taxi or there are multiple bus routes from the Adreinne Arscht Station for $2.00 per person.
