price list for upgrades on princess

thinking about upgrading for summer trip on caribbean princess...wanted to get an idea cost to upgrade from bb category...thanks

Princess does not upgrade at the pier for a price, as does RCI. They are FREE! if you can get them. Otherwise the paid upgrade cost is to pay the difference in fare, not the flash sale price either, between the original fare you paid and the new category.

If you haven't made final payment yet, it's pretty easy to self-upgrade. You might have to cancel and rebook, sometimes not, depending on your TA and the mood of the Princess booking agent. After final payment, it is an entirely different story. No matter the price you see quoted, you would have to pay what the going rate was at the time you booked. So, if you are cruising in July, you might already be out of luck. You would have to cancel and re-book and that would cost you your deposit, at the least.

 

It was easier to do this in the past, but lately Princess has been sticky.
