Booking through Princess is probably the most expensive. If an agency can't beat the Princess quoted price, even a little, you should keep checking. That might not be true 100% of the time, but is good enough as a general rule.

I'm with Rob on this one.

We usually book onboard, a specfic cruise not just and open booking so we know the total cost. We are told by the Future Sales Consultant that it is the lowest fee we'll get anywhere. We have them turn the booking over to our TA and once we're home she calls us to confirm - and always has a lower price.:D

I have not found any travel agent who can beat the online agency prices. If you know what you want, do plenty of research and feel comfortable booking with an online agency you can save some big bucks. If you don't feel comfortable or need lots of advice then go with a travel agent in your area.

If you are cruising to and from the same port in the US generally your travel agent or web pricing will be much better than the cruise line...and the flight will be more direct and probably more convenient. If you cruising in Europe and Asia, especially if you are flying in to one city and out of another then the cruise line fare MAY be OK. You really do need to shop around.
