dpfred Posted May 5, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 5, 2004 We normally use 26" suitcases which fit underneath the bed. We are getting ready to go to Alaska and would like to know if 29" suitcases also fit under the bed. It measures 10 1/2" deep. Florida Beach Posted May 5, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 5, 2004 The 29" fits just fine under the bed of the Mariner of the Sea, RCCL. I guess the heigh is standard on all ships. kitty9 Posted May 5, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 5, 2004 Be careful of those 29" suitcases. Make sure they're not over the maximum size for the airlines. Some of those are over the size limit when you add all the height, length and width numbers, and you will be charged extra. Darcie
Guest Posted May 5, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 5, 2004 Also remember the weight restrictions the airlines pose. The bigger the luggage the more you tend to pack into it, making it heavier than the 50 pound limit. It's better to take 2 smaller cases than to overstuff one. 26inches is the largest one we ever fly with now. Krazy Kruizers Posted May 5, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 5, 2004 Luggage Years ago we use to use the 30 inch suitcases when we traveled overseas. But now that the airlines have weight restrictions and size restictions, we use two 26 and two 24 inch suitcases. Some of the airlines allow a maximum of 62 (width, length, and highth) inches per suitcase. traveler2772 Posted September 5, 2004 #6 Share Posted September 5, 2004 We are traveling on Air France. Does anyone know what their size and weight restrictions for luggage are? I have been to their website already and cannot find any information. Thanks Helen
elmorejj Posted September 5, 2004 #7 Share Posted September 5, 2004 Most International flights allow you to have 2 pieces each weighing a maximum of 70lbs. The dimensions are the same as domestic travel. If you are connecting within Europe, onto another European airline, you need to contact them as inter European restrictions are different to the International allowances.....jean

montekat Posted September 26, 2004 #9 Share Posted September 26, 2004 If a large suitcase doesn't fit under the bed, try opening it up and sliding it under like that. Works for us!
