VIFP "Grandfathered" dates?

Hello....

 

My boys have 9 cruises with Carnival.... and I know there was a date that they had to complete a 10th to be considered Platinum with the new program.

 

I have read two dates... June, and then December.

 

Can anyone confirm when they have to take their 10th cruise by?

December 2013. My son has 8 but I'm stilling trying to decide if it's worth getting 2 more for him. He will probably make platinum with his number of days before he's buying his own cruises anyway.

December 2013, it's on their website under FAQ. We're about to do #9, then 10 next year.

Q- I was only a sail or two away from becoming Platinum in the previous recognition program. Is there anything I can do to reach the Platinum level?

 

A- We understand the investments guests have made over the years, and we’d like to thank and acknowledge guests who were near advancement in the previous program.

Any guest that sails at least 10 times by December 31, 2013, will be grandfathered into the Platinum level under the old program rules.

And, once a guest begins his/her 10th sailing, s/he will be considered Platinum in the new program on that 10th sailing.

I had googled it from John Heald and when it was first published, they had said June. I am so glad they have all year..... we may cruise after school ends now instead of April Vacation.

I will be taking advantage since they have it at December as well. I was so upset when they changed the program knowing I would be at 9 cruises by the end of 2012.
