disfan Posted October 22, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2012 I'm glad that I am not sailing this week. I just happened to check the National Data Buoy Center website. Atlantic seas will be building all of this week and by Friday parts of the Gulf Stream will have 23 to 24 foot seas. Pass the seasick pills. We are leaving on the Explorer on the 28th heading to Bermuda out of NYC. According this site I found from the first website listed, they are forecasting waves of 12 meters on the 29th.... We are going to be on Deck 9. Better start taking the Bonine earlier than we usually do..... I would assume that the Captain would try to avoid the severely rough areas, but I am not sure where he could go to get around it. They would save money on the food budget, but have a huge cleanup chore. :o

Javalava Posted October 22, 2012 #14 Share Posted October 22, 2012 I'm in Florida and our weather is saying this storm should move to the Bahamas by the end of this week. I have friends on Freedom this week doing eastern caribbean, so I've been watching and hoping it's not too bad for them.

Room Service! Posted October 22, 2012 #21 Share Posted October 22, 2012 I'm not opposed to some rough seas, but we're going to the Caribbean for a reason ... sun, sand and all that good stuff. Wouldn't mind at all if this were happening on the return trip. No missed ports or excursions.
