Hi

We arrive at Denali princess lodge at 6.15 one evening and would like to do something that evening if possible , not really interested in the dinner theatre , has anybody got any ideas please and an idea of what time it gets dark late June ?

We are out most of the next day on a TWT but would also have a few hours late afternoon/early evening then too and want to make the most of our time there

Thanks for any help or info

The second day, you can go rafting at 6 PM, which we really loved.

If you're brave, you can take a soak in the outdoor jacuzzi at the lodge :)

I don't know if this is any good, but I found it online during my research

You can also walk on the pathway next to the Nenana river, which is very relaxing and pretty.

We were at the Denali Lodge for 2 nights. The first night we did the Husky Homestead excursion it was great.... you should have plenty of daylight hours. You would have to check on the time it departs from the lodge. You could book it directly thru Husky Homstead there is a booth across from the lodge and according to their website they do an excursion leaving the lodge at 7PM.

You could also look at departure times for the river rafting which was done by our friends they loved it. They also have a jetboat excursion.

Enjoy your time there it is wonderful!

How about getting into the park again? Lots of things to do near the entrance. Can take the free shuttle bus to Savage River, looking for wildlife and doing the easy Savage River loop hike.

With a full day in Denali, you might consider switching from the TWT to the Eielson shuttle bus. Goes further into the park (prime bear area) and is a lot less expensive.

The sun doesn’t set until after midnight for most of the month of June so light won’t be an issue. As frugal said there are things to do near the park entrance. Many nice little hikes in the area. The problem may be getting from the hotel to the park entrance that late in the day without walking there.
