bled01 Posted October 23, 2012 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2012 I booked just over a week ago and now I see that Carnival has a sale with an OBC offering of $300 for the cruise I booked. Am I able to get that credit? Do I need to cancel and rebook?
BigDfromTN Posted October 23, 2012 #2 Share Posted October 23, 2012 What kind of rate did you book at? If Early Saver, You will have a penalty of $50 each person. If other than, just call and have your booking changed to the sale rate. IF it benefits you. Many times the amount you pay and the OBC wash or its a loss. SOMETIMES it is a good deal tho.;)
stevethepirate Posted October 23, 2012 #3 Share Posted October 23, 2012 Usually Carnival sales are not sales. They bump the prices up and either give you upgrades or obc. You might have to pay the new rate. Call who ever you booked with and see what they can do.

So if you did cancel and rebook you would not have a Spa cabin and the difference would be very little. Also, I took a second look at this on the Carnival website and it appears you do not get the past guest rate when getting the $300 OBC. The difference in the room cost for a standard balcony(8A) would be $310 so if you chose that option and were a past guest you would actually lose $10. golfadj Posted October 23, 2012 #6 Share Posted October 23, 2012 We were going to book one for next Sept and than the sale started and price went up $ 200. Will wait until next week and price should come back down. Typical Carnival sale. Only value is reduced deposit.
