I came across Arielle and told her about the strawberry shortcake, she loves the ones I make back home, so off I went for a second piece of strawberry shortcake with her. I got to bed at 1:30 am.

Goodnight

We started the day by going to the gym. We had missed the last three days because of the ports. Approximately half of the equipment was being used. Like they say, Spirit class ships are not as busy as other classes of Carnival ships and that seems to apply to the restaurant, buffet, shows and gym.

Went to brunch at about 11 am. We used our coupons for a free Mai Tai and Tiramisu.

I ordered the Filet Mignon and Eggs again and Tracy ordered Eggs Benedict.

After brunch we decided to try out our luck on the Vault in the casino. Its $1 per attempt to win cash prizes, with the top prize of a iPad combined with $500. To win you have to maneuver a key into a hole to knock off the prize. Looks simple but I would guess the key fits with only a millimeter to spare. We tried about 10 times without success.

The next day I noticed that one of the two top prizes was gone.

Our afternoon was spent lounging on the sport deck with the knowledge that the next day would be cooler, as we approached the northeastern U.S. The weather channel was forecasting a high of 58 degrees for our arrival in New York. A lot cooler than the 80 degrees on the day we left.

Fun in the sun

Tonight’s dining was our second cruise elegant. We all dressed up except Mitchel did not want to wear his tie. That’s okay, we only insist if we are getting professional photos taken.

Tonight’s show in the Phantom lounge was the much anticipated ‘Ticket to Ride’ a tribute to the ‘Beatles’. Tracy had missed the show on our Carnival Freedom cruise because she was not well. In our opinion it’s the best of all Carnival shows.

We arrived at 8:10 for the 8:45 show and spotted some good seats near the front of the lounge. However, practically the whole row was being saved by 3 scarfs, laid out to cover the long bench seat. I simply walked to the middle of the row and tossed the scarf aside and sat down. Shortly afterwards a lady sitting behind us mumbled something and retrieved the scarfs.

Sorry no photos of the show because of the copyright laws & safety of the performers.

After the show we hurried to the Mad Hatter’s Ball Lounge for the ‘Punchliner Comedy’

Excellent shows with Mike Lucas and Smiley Joe Wiley.

Mike,

Your pictures are awesome. They always look like picture postcards.:)

Arielle dress for 2nd formal night, looked beautiful. Wish you had taken her picture standing up, so I could see the whole dress.

Thank you.:)

GOOD FOR YOU MIKE!!!!! Saving a seat for a spouse or a friend is one thing.....that is ridiculous!

At my sons college graduation this year (held outside) we arrived at 0630 to ensure we got good seats. As we went to sit down a woman ran over and told us she had the entire two rows (32 seats!) saved for her family. She had taken an orange napkin and torn 32 pieces off to mark her chairs  We debated whether or not to sit there anyway, but ultimately moved on....sometimes it just isn't worth ruining a special moment with a confrontation. Chair hogs are EVERYWHERE!

I was going to give you a high five for this too, Mike! ;) Gail, sure wish a big wind had come along and blown all the napkin pieces to the back rows! :D:D:D:eek: Very nice of you to keep your cool and not let it ruin your day.

Our last sea day, time flies when you are having fun. We got up late and started packing. Mitchel joined us on the Lido deck for lunch and the chocolate buffet. I decided to have something from Chopsticks while Tracy had something from the Carvery.
