Post-cruise--spending the day in Miami/FLL

You all were so helpful for my pre-cruise dilemma, so now I am hoping you can help me with figuring out what we are doing post-cruise.

We get off Carnival Breeze on a Sunday (Jan 27). My tentative plan is to take the Alamo shuttle to the MIA location and rent a minivan. (4 adults + 2 toddlers)

I've scoped out the brunch at Mister Collins in Bal Harbour. Any experience there? It looks delicious! If not Mister Collins, then any other brunch/lunch suggestions??

After lunch, I'd like to drive on into Fort Lauderdale and spend the day at Sawgrass Mills....but we can only spend so much time there before we've seen it all, and we will have two squirrely toddlers who will probably be overtired and exhausted. Our flight is out of FLL at 9:30 pm...what else would you suggest?

We'd kind of like to rent a hotel room in FLL for the day, but I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure the kids won't sleep with others in the room anyway.
