getting married Posted May 13, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2004 Will I be okay if I book a 12:10 return flight home form our Ft. Lauderdale/Princess curies?
Nitemare Posted May 13, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 13, 2004 Probably, assuming you're flying out of FLL. We've done two Princess cruises out of FLL and been at the airport by 11:30 both times, with early disembarkation. If you can schedule something a couple hours later you'll be safer, though. getting married Posted May 13, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted May 13, 2004 I'm trying to find a 1:00 or later flight, but so far no luck. Thanks for your input!
serene56 Posted May 13, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 13, 2004 Goto the pursers desk the night before and ask for early off tags. Get off with the first group of people and you should be fine. Only if your cruise is outof FLL and your flight is the same place. obnurse Posted May 16, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 16, 2004 How important is it for you to make your flight? When I asked our TA the same question she highly discouraged us from any flights before 1 pm. Sure, the odds are in your favor to make a 12:10, but when I asked this question on the message board many people posted and told stories of unexplected delays getting off the ship. We're sailing on Inspiration in July and we've opted for a later flight. Happy Cruising!! kc
kitty9 Posted May 16, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 16, 2004 I think your flight is too early to make comfortably. There are so many things that can make your disembarking later than planned and security lines at FLL are miserable on the weekends, taking as long as 90 minutes. And as one other poster said, they made it to the airport by 11:30 which in no way will be enough time for you to check in, go through security and get to the gate for a 12:10 flight. You'd be far better off finding a later flight even if it's out of Miami Darcie
Happy ks Posted May 16, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 16, 2004 A little word of advise. Let your cabin attendant know of your plans to put different color tags on your bags. Our last cruise, we got off early, but our bags were unloaded with the color of the rest of our area. We waited about an hour after disembarking for our luggage. Have a great cruise!
