CRUISIN LINDA Posted November 5, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 5, 2012 I've had 4 holidays in Egypt and done the Red Sea cruise. Never had any injections and never even had a tummy upset :) Enjoy your cruise, when are you going?
Sekhmet Posted November 5, 2012 #5 Share Posted November 5, 2012 If you want to look at http://www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk there is information about everywhere. However, for the most up-to-date you should contact your GP or practice nurse - ours asks you to fill in a short form and then comes back with what is suggested - and always recommends keeping the standard UK jabs current - polio, tetanus etc. They may also recommend Hepatitis A and Typhoid. The only mandatory injection for Egypt is Yellow Fever, and ONLY if travelling from an infected area. We've made ten trips to Egypt so far, with no significant problems. Tizzy-Jo Posted November 5, 2012 #6 Share Posted November 5, 2012 Best check with the Practice Nurse at your GP's surgery. Ours is brilliant, calls everyone "Honey".

Great minds obviously think alike, and at virtually the same time it appears. Though our nurse doesn't call everyone Honey, or perhaps its just me;)

topsey130 Posted November 6, 2012 #10 Share Posted November 6, 2012 our medic is called Mary.......likes to be known as Bloody Mary!.....cant repeat what she calls us;) Thought they only issued Brufen! ;) the Panacea of the British Armed forces....well that and biscuits brown :D Seriously though, check with your Health Center/GP Practice particularly if you have any underlying health problems (auto-immune). But generally speaking provided all your normal jabs are up to date that should suffice.
