    I always take an evening skirt and a glitzy top. I love to see all the different outfits that people wear, particularly if some men are wearing kilts.

    Just checked next year and they are doing Istanbul. Mind you, I only checked for August.

    We did the Ancient Wonders cruise on Celebration in 2013. It was our first and we were hooked. Sailing through the Dardanelles was so thought provoking. Wonderful times.

    Celebration had one too. Used it once after a week in a hotel first. Not the most brilliant of appliances but handy at the time.

    My cruise is 24th August. Will be interested to hear about your Venice trip, if you do go.

    I’ve been in two minds whether to book this excursion because it’s such a long day. However, as I was only 14 the last time I was in Venice, I think I really need to go.

    As Brummijam has said, the only adults only ship is Explorer 2.

    Totally agree with that statement. I have never had to claim on travel insurance but because I have one or two medical problems and am in my 70s, I have to pay so much more than I did 10 years ago.

    Whichever you decide will be lovely. Have done a stay and cruise which was really enjoyable. There were several other guests doing the same. We were collected by a minibus at the hotel and taken straight to the ship. The reverse would happen if you do a cruise and stay.

    I always check out the “What’s in Port” website, lots of useful information. I print off the relevant maps too.

    Absolutely. I always prefer to turn left when boarding a long haul flight.

    It’s some years since I’ve been to Cuba but the currency used by visitors then was the Cuban Convertable Peso. You should be able to get that inside the port. I have no doubt you will be informed on board ship.

    I always do a practice pack.

    My mobile supplier only charged £2 a day for roaming which I was more than happy with. As soon as I was off the ship I checked emails etc. The only day I couldn’t have it was sea day. I can live without wifi one day no probs.
