Never heard of this hotel.. anyone from New Orleans hear of it?

It used to be Le Cirque (because it is on Lee Cirsle), and was renovated in 2011 and renamed Hotel Modern. It was a beautiful place even before the renovation.

 

"15 minutes from the French Quarter" is a stretch, and about the only downside is its distance from the quarter. Unless you are a roadrunner it would be closer to 30 minutes. The St. Charles streetcar line is under construction, but there is a bus running along the streetcar line for the time being.

 

Never been to Tamarind but have heard good things about it.
