40herewecome Posted November 10, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 10, 2012 We are leaving Sunday for the Jewel and I am packing for the trip. What is the temperature on the ship and is there a thermostat in the staterooms. This is our first cruise with our four kids and I don't know how to pack for it. roger001 Posted November 10, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 10, 2012 Yes, thermostat in staterooms. All the ships stay pretty cool, but not too much so for me. However, if I wear long sleave shirt in an evening dining room, I'm comfortable. I'm guessing....wild guess....ship interior temps run around 68 - 72 degrees. roger001 Posted November 10, 2012 #5 Share Posted November 10, 2012 Here's some pics of the starboard side cabins of the Jewel taken when she was docked next to the Pearl last month. http://s241.photobucket.com/albums/ff281/roganderson60/Jewel%20Starbord%20Side/?start=all
Snowrose Posted November 10, 2012 #6 Share Posted November 10, 2012 The mini suites have 2 temperature controls for the cabin. One is at the washroom wall and the other is near the TV in the sitting (3 and 4 passenger sleeping) area. As for the eating/drinking areas, the temps were actually quite reasonable. (I say that as I froze to death on the Spirit 6 years ago but was comfortable on the Jewel.)
shallow Posted November 11, 2012 #7 Share Posted November 11, 2012 Don't forget we'll be in cooler waters for 2 days at least, so I'm bring a sweat shirt for walking on deck. The wind can be strong.

I had my winter jacket with me, and wearing that made it comfortable to be on deck as we sailed away.
