Soda/Drink Mixers

Can we just slap a luggage tag on a 12 pack of soda/water? We are going to try and order a bottle of Captain Morgan from guest services so I was wondering about mixers. First of all, what would you recommend to mix with the rum and can we just pack mixers in our suitcase?

You are suppose to carry on your water and soda.

I would think unless your mixers are in powder form, those would be required to be in you carry on also.

I think you are allowed 12 pp 20 oz bottles/cans and one bottle of wine.

So I don't think they allow for tagging a 12 pack of soda or water

just get a carry on with wheels and your set.

The "Official" Carnival Alcohol Policy

Bringing Alcohol On Board - Embarkation Day:

  • Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages on board. However, at the beginning of the cruise during embarkation day, guests (21 years of age and older) may bring on board one bottle (max of 750ml) of wine or champagne, per person, only in their carry-on luggage.
  • A $10 corkage fee per bottle will be charged should you wish to consume this wine in the main dining room.
  • A corkage fee is a charge exacted at a restaurant for every bottle of liquor served that was not bought on the premises.
  • Bringing the bottle to the table already opened can sometimes avoid this fee.
  • On embarkation day, each guest may bring a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages on board only in their carry-on luggage. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 bottles and/or cans, 20 ounces each or less.
  • All alcohol/hard liquor/beer (sealed, unopened bottles/cans), wine/champagne over the allowable 1-bottle per guest (sealed, unopened bottles) or excessive quantities of non-alcoholic beverages (over 12 per person, sealed, unopened bottles/cans) will be confiscated and stored for safekeeping until the end of the voyage. The retained item(s) will be available for collection onboard in a designated location on the morning of debarkation. Unsealed liquids that are prohibited will be discarded, as well as any unclaimed items left after the voyage, and no compensation will be given in either case.

Notes:

  • You may bring on more than one bottle of wine or champagne per person as long as the total quantity per person does not exceed 750ml. The typical 4 pack of small wine bottles are 187ml each, for a total of 748ml.

  • If you buy alcohol in any port during your cruise you will be instructed to turn it in when you are screened during reboarding. You will then be allowed to pick it up on the last night of the cruise.

  • Alcohol purchased from the Duty Free Shop onboard the ship is held and delivered to your cabin on the last night of the cruise.

  • You will be allowed to keep any non-alcoholic beverages purchased in ports as long as they are sealed and they fit in the same size and quantity limits as when you first boarded. They do not track how many non-alcoholic beverages you initiallly bring onboard, so even if you bring your limit you are still allowed to bring on additional from the ports.

If you want to bring a cooler onboard the max size is 12"x12"x12".

(They also work well as another ice bucket in the room.)

Besides the 12 pack per person you're allowed to carry on, you can bring additional 12 packs on board at each port stop if you desire. With regards to what to mix soda wise with your Capt, I would use Coke or Sprite or the Zero versions of both. Another option would be if you did decide to buy a bottomless bubbles card, your options would be open to include all of the different juices that are included that can be mixed with rum such as pineapple, orange and grapefruit.
