Gift Basket Help

My mom and step dad are taking the Rock Legends cruise with Royal Caribbean Jan 10, 2013.

I would like to give them a gift basket of goodies for Christmas. My concern is that they are flying from here to the port city. I don't want to weigh down their baggage.

Anyone have any ideas on how to make this work?

They are flying there a day early, so I could give them the basket at Christmas, and tell them I will pay to ship it to their hotel.

Items I am thinking of including are

  • small bottle of hand sanitizer
  • pack of post it's

  • highlighter
  • Travel size bottle of Advil for hangovers
  • Inexpensive journal to write about the trip/pen
  • Duct tape
  • Lip balm with high SPF
  • a few bucks for casino
  • A note saying there will be a "surprise" on board (ordering a gift through RC website.)
  • disposable underwater camera for the beach

(I am still adding to this list feel free to make suggestions)

Is this their first cruise? I would give it to them and ship to the hotel.

--Extension cord/small power strip

--A couple of magnets (walls are metal)

--Good waterproof sunscreen

--Travel guide book, unless they already have one

How about putting all items in a canvas beach tote instead of a basket?

Hope they have a fun cruise.

We had a similar thread a few days ago with lots of items listed as suggestions.

Rather than list them all again, here is a link to that thread:

Hope this helps you.

Thank you. The reason for this post is to get ideas on how to get this to them when it is cruise time so it doesn't weigh down their baggage.

The beach bag idea is great!

Aren't they going to have to bring all/most of it back with them too? While it seems nice to try to help out by shipping it so it doesn't take up space in their luggage, they are still going to need room to bring it back, unless they just throw away everything at the end of the cruise.

I didn't think of that. LOL

I guess people normally pack that stuff in a suitcase?

I'm sorry. I should have mentioned in my first post that I already searched the boards for suggestions. :)

Thank you for the link tho.

ALSO

I am taking my first cruise in April and I just realized she may be doing the same kind of gift for me for my birthday (Dec2) or Christmas.

How funny would it be if my mom and I exchanged gifts and it was the same cruise gear?:eek:
