At the Port of Charleston, are the parking fees waived if you have a handicap placard or license plate with ID?

I found the answer to my own question. This is from the Port of Charleston website: FAQ's

What is the fee for parking at the Port?

Effective July 1, 2012:

Standard size vehicles (up to 20 ft. length) - $17/day

Oversized vehicles (ie. campers, rv’s, etc.) - $40/day

Vehicles displaying handicap permits – no fee

(Person permit was issued to must be traveling in the vehicle)

Crazy question...My parents will be riding with me to the port and my Mom has a hanging Handicap tag that goes over the mirror. Is that all she needs?

You MAY need to have the paperwork that came with the handicap tag for proof that the tag belongs to her. As long as she has the paperwork and tag, along with being in your vehicle, then you should be fine.

My dad is bringing his tag with him when we sail from Charleston in July and will be riding in my car with me.
