Yes it looks a lovely ship.

Heres some info I looked up about her.

Looks like you would have to have a yen to speak Japanese to sail on her..:D

 

Pacific Venus was built in 1998 for Japan Cruise Line and has remained in its service since. Japan Cruise Line operates Venus Cruise which Pacific Venus sails under, and whose parent company owns several ferry companies.

 

Marketed only in Japan, it is a Japanese-speaking ship and is well suited to Japanese-speaking mature couples and single travellers who enjoy travelling in comfortable surroundings and good food and service at a moderate cost. This ship is often under charter, and in 2012/13 will make a fleeting visit to New Zealand, not dissimilar to its previous visits.

It was nice to see Devonport, my place of birth, in the background of the 2nd photo. Incidentally, I used to have a girlfriend at Red Beach many years ago and played in a band at the old Orewa Trust hotel. MANY years ago! We used to play at Waiwera as well.
