Nassau - alantis

Sorry if this question has already been asked but the search button is out this morning.

We are looking at going to the aquarium at Alantis. I have done my research, or so I thought! From what I read it is a $4 water taxi pp to get across to Alantis then you pay $40 at the casino for tickets to get into the Aquarium.

As per the Carnival site it is $55 pp including BUS transportation to Alantis....? I thought Alantis was an island?

Anyone with some insite?

Also if it is $55 that is only a couple of bucks more expensive and maybe worth it to go with Carnival. (As it would be $40 pp plus $4 pp per each way for a total of $48)

Thoughts?

I am unsure about the water taxi but we took a regular taxi for $4pp each way.

Atlantis is on Paradise Island, which is just across the bridge.

I would just do it on your own rather than book with Carnival.

Carnival offers multiple excursions to Atlantis, which they provide buses for. That is a lot of people getting on these buses that you have to wait for to get there.

We were one of the first off the ship, grabbed a taxi at the port area and were dropped off right in front. The taxi ride is more or less 10 minutes.

The land based taxi is about 10 minutes. The water taxi is about 30 minutes. Land based taxis drive like maniacs but the water based taxis are loaded past capacity.

I took a cab over there and it was fine. We actually were joking that they use their horns to change lanes, say hi to other taxis, say hi to people on the street, or even if they are just going straight in the same lane they still honk their horn.

Thanks for the info!

Would it be faster to walk? Just wondering with the traffic?

No, it is a long walk from the pier to the bridge, over the bridge, and then to Atlantis. I do think a land taxi is the best bet.

Wow, that's interesting. I wonder why.

I don't think this is true.. at least for the long haul. I saw them working in the harbour over the weekend.

They may have halted them for the bridge dedication or some other event

I'll post if I hear anything further.
