Poor Canaletto

We enjoyed the food in the Cannaleto very much in August 2011 on the Amsterdam. However, I would not pay extra for it, nor would I pay extra for any other restaurant. I am not a foodie, so anything to stave off hunger will do. ;) I cruise to see new places and experience new things....food is at the bottom of my list. I enjoy good food, I am just not willing to pay extra. Back home we never dine at restaurants where the meal will cost us $25 pp, so why would I pay $25 when my cruise price already included a meal?

I've enjoyed the Canaletto fare in the past - in particular the Maasdam. The new menu not so appealing but will give it a try (even with upcharge) on upcoming cruise. On another note - I find it silly that HAL makes the staff wear Italian sounding name tags...I realize it's "just for fun" but several of the staff I have spoken to find it demeaning.

Happy Sails all..
