RuthC Posted June 2, 2005 #51 Share Posted June 2, 2005 We have decided to combine back to back cruises by cruising in April to Hawaii for 18 days followed by an Alaskan cruise for 7 days. Oh! Now there's an itinerary I could love! Packing could be a challenge, to be sure, but what a wonderful combination cruise!
sail7seas Posted June 2, 2005 Author #52 Share Posted June 2, 2005 Hi Sage.....Thanks for posting about Volendam. I understand you were 'specially greeted by the previous occupant of your 'accomodation'. ...as she was escorted ashore (by our friend) :) ??? Isn't he a wonderful gentleman?!! Glad to hear Volendam was wonderful and you had a good time. Hope you'll post some more comments when you get home. Travel safely
KAKcruiser Posted June 2, 2005 #53 Share Posted June 2, 2005 Somebody mentioned missing the Westfarer. I believe I saw that listed in the Fall of 2006 out of Fort Lauderdale. I think it was on the Amsterdam. But, you should verify that information with HAL because I am going by memory.
BLStokes23 Posted June 3, 2005 #54 Share Posted June 3, 2005 KAKcruiser - I was the person looking for this itinerary (Westfarer) again - checked the HAL website, but couldn't find it. It looked like the Amsterdam was doing the Panama Canal at that time. Thanks for posting - I'll keep checking - maybe I missed it.
gizmo Posted June 3, 2005 #55 Share Posted June 3, 2005 I don't know the ports but there is a Westfarer listed for 2006 in a brochure I received this week. It was a European brochure but it had a chart that listed all the cruses for each ship.
KAKcruiser Posted June 3, 2005 #56 Share Posted June 3, 2005 BLSTOKES, I can't find the Westfarer anymore, either. I thought I had seen it but maybe I was wrong. Or maybe it was changed. Sorry. Maybe it will pop up again.
lka1012 Posted June 3, 2005 #57 Share Posted June 3, 2005 Haven't been on-line in awhile. Engaged in a little too much "Retail Therapy" and knew I could not afford cruise again until late 2006, so I was too depressed to come on-line. I am now looking at that 10-day Nov 13 Southern Carrib out of FL in 2006. Have moved into a new postion at work that prevents me from traveling the first two weeks in Dec (which is my prefered time to travel), so I now look at Nov voyages. Anyway, even though it is 17 months before I can have the feel of ocean beneath my feet, I am looking forward to my next journey. Yes, seven days is a little too short and I really can't take 14 or more days out of work. And another 20+ years until I retire. Oh yes, Jim Vrhovac, I have copied you here at work. Sometimes my tootsies get cold when I kick off my shoes, so I wear my Cookie Monster slippers here at the office.
