RD MULLET Posted November 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2012 After arriving on Voyager of the Seas last week:) I noticed that the lines for the bow of the boat, pointing into the harbour, just went into the water in the little bay thing that is there. They appeared to be "strained" as though they were secured in some way, I am just wondering how? Someone must know. The_Big_M Posted November 29, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 29, 2012 There's a temporary anchor that was installed there, planned as an upgrade for larger ships, but first used by Queen Mary 2. It cost $5m. More details are here: http://www.arup.com/Home/Projects/Temporary_Mooring_System_at_OPT.aspx

Are the lines in the harbour and get taken up to the ship? Do they send divers down?
Cruise ship fan Posted November 29, 2012 #4 Share Posted November 29, 2012 I was wondering the exact same thing. I know they got them off by the use of a small tug.
