Mexico liquor question

Has anyone taken liquor in your baggage, either checked or carry-on, into Mexico on a land vacation? Seems like we did this a few years ago with no problem. But now I'm wondering if it will be taken away going through customs in Mexico?

I just got back from a land-based trip and I brought 2-12 packs of beer and a half bottle of VO.. it was a half-gallon and it was half-full... made it okay from US to Mexico... I had about 1-1/2" left and thought I could bring it back from Mexico but it was confiscated at the airport... no biggee..

This was my first time at an all-inclusive and I was afraid I wouldn't like the draft beer.. and I was right. I brought a 12 pack of Miller Lite for me and a 12 pack of Bud for my co-worker... were we surprised that the resort (Reef Club) sold Miller Lite AND Bud!! $2.00 per can ... we had left-overs and didn't have a problem bringing the beer back!

I think the customs form says you can have 3 liters of alcohol to bring into Mexico.
