Hi We are going on the TP Oct 31st. Which is best to do the precruise with the cruise lines or on your own? Which hotels are the best we arent interested in anything fancy just someplace to get some rest before the cruise. Also is it safe to do on your own. How do you do transfers from the airport to the hotel and on to the ship? Do you buy the transfers from the cruise lines or do you take a cab there will be 3 people? Thank you for the help John

on your own!! how many nights precruise are you planning on? we went 3 nights precruise and took the ferry to Moorea. thre are many smaller family run places to stay. http://www.thetahititraveler.com lists many properties. we will be staying at Le Tipaniers our next trip. it is very safe and very easy to do on your own. you might want to check out http://www.tahitiexplorer.com too. no need for princess transfers, cabs are less expensive and easy.
