rvsullivan Posted December 4, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 4, 2012 Yes to all of your questions. There are several threads regarding CPAPs. Also many say the ships water if fine and not to bother with distilled. Your call.

Rounder Posted December 4, 2012 #4 Share Posted December 4, 2012 The ship will have single prong cord's at the front desk, but limited, and on a first come basis. I alway's bring a mulity prong plug at least 15 feet to reach the bed, so there is no problem:cool:
bluesea777 Posted December 4, 2012 #5 Share Posted December 4, 2012 I use CPAP, and I always bring extension cord (20 ft) and power stip - no problem at all on all our NCL cruises. My CPAP is the kind that doesn't use water.
blutfort Posted December 5, 2012 #6 Share Posted December 5, 2012 On the Star last week and no problems at all. I always bring CPAP, cord, and Strip. Never have any problems. I also carry it on, it is the one thing that would make my cruise unbearable if I lost it. I think I got asked once what it was by an xray tech and when I said medical equipment, they apologized and quickly moved me along. I use the ships water and not distilled. Just rinse well with vinegar on your return and you won't have any problems with scaling for the week. After 2 weeks on the epic for a TA in october I noticed a bit of scaling, but nothing major. Vinegar took it right off when I got home.
lvsatman Posted December 5, 2012 #7 Share Posted December 5, 2012 Never had any problems bringing my CPAP on board three different times. I always bring a one litre bottle of distilled water, and it usually gets me through the week.
Gopher1934 Posted December 5, 2012 Author #8 Share Posted December 5, 2012 Thank You all for the advice My wife is looking forward to finally being on a cruise without me snoring and waking her up. I have only had it a few weeks and it seems to be working really well.
camz Posted December 5, 2012 #9 Share Posted December 5, 2012 DH brings a three prong and an extention cord. You definately need an extention cord. You can request distilled water from the medical department if you want or you can carry your own onboard. However, DH has just used the ship's water. Since the water is so filtrated there have been no issues with the machine. Important, DO NOT FORGET EXTENTION CORD. The outlets are limited and not right next to the bed, even in a suite. AllBoys2002 Posted December 5, 2012 #10 Share Posted December 5, 2012 We travel with 2 Cpap machines for hubby and littlest son and bring our own power cords and power strip. We couldn't use both if we didn't have those and we have never had them taken or even questioned.
XSWABBY Posted December 5, 2012 #11 Share Posted December 5, 2012 You can also send a request to NCL's access desk to receive a bottle of distilled water in your cabin. They have given a gallon of distilled water in the past, but bring a copy of your acknowledgement with you. Give reservation and cabin # in your reguest. Send to: accessdesk@ncl.com Hope this helps, Angelo
EileenN Posted December 5, 2012 #12 Share Posted December 5, 2012 In over 30 cruises I have brought an exstention cord my bipap machine and a power strip to charge my phone, plug in my curling ironkl etc. The water is treated on the ship equal to distilled water and I use it from the bathroom sink. to problem and the ship rocking makes it awesome. Rare CruiseIreland Posted December 5, 2012 #13 Share Posted December 5, 2012 I emailed RCCL and requested an extension lead and distilled water before our last cruise. They confirmed they would provide but they were not in the stateroom. Our room steward soon got them for me without a problem.
