Suite on the Dawn or mini suite Epic?

My DH and I are having trouble deciding on which NCL cruise to take. We are experienced cruisers but have not been on Norwegian since the Norway in 1997. We live in Tampa.

Our choices are a Mini on Epic or a Family Suite on Dawn. It would be great to be able to sail from our home port, but the Epic seems great too. The prices are the same and the suite perks are awesome. But the Epic is so innovative.

Which would you recommend? Thank you for any advice!

I'd always vote suite vs not. The Dawn is a lovely ship and you have the benefit of sailing from your backyard! Plus the suite perks!

Dawn wins hands down in this instance. IMO anyway!

This would be my choice too (unless you sail with young kids - then Epic seems nicer for them, Dawn doesn't have a waterslide, unless I am mistaken - what I could be)

Been on both ships and think they are both fabulous. They are very different - Like comparing apples to oranges. They are different but I like them both. Epic is going to outshine the Dawn with its entertainment options. That said a suite would be very nice though we always book mini suites on the Epic.
