Dawn Princess - Melbourne - stationary.

The Dawn Princess was in Melbourne today and was scheduled to leave at 4pm...which it did.

 

But looking out of my window for the last half hour I can see it sitting stationary in the bay. Wonder why? Maybe some obstruction I can't see ( sme trees block the view at the front of the ship) or an medical evacuation? It's sort of off Elwood/Brighton about 1 klm.

 

Or..maybe a yacht race is blocking its path.

find the map for Victoria and zoom in on Melbourne.

Its showing her at 0.3 knots, but there is a ship coming in. Perhaps theres only room for 1 at a time in the channel?

Hi, You are / were correct. Shortly after departure the ship dropped anchor in Port Phillip Bay to tender a passenger to meet land based ambulance. No further details were given.
