crazyboys Posted December 21, 2012 #26 Share Posted December 21, 2012 CrazyBoys - We also stayed in one of the Deluxe OV Cabins. I have a review in my signature with pictures of the Cabin. My husband and I and our kids loved this type of cabin. Hope that helps.... Thanks pensgrl for the pictures. I see you were able to keep your beds together to make one. Somewhere I read where you had to keep them seperate, but it looks like your set up worked out just fine. Thanks again.
Bookfinder Posted December 22, 2012 #27 Share Posted December 22, 2012 Sounds like you had a great cruise. We are on the Magic in August and this will be our first time on Carnival. Our DD, DSL, and DGD will be in the adjoining cabin. It will be their very first cruise and we were wondering how dressy formal night is in the MDR? Is a dress shirt and tie OK or do you need a jacket? We just returned from a HAL cruise and their formal night requires a jacket for the men in the MDR. Also, saw the Razorback and was wondering if you live in Arkansas. We live in LR and will probably drive down the day before but must admit love the non-stop SW into Hobby. Thanks for the nice review -- Bookfinder
Soonerbaby Posted December 27, 2012 #28 Share Posted December 27, 2012 If I missed it previously, can you tell me which nights were elegant nights? :) Thank you!
Nars Glinley Posted December 27, 2012 #29 Share Posted December 27, 2012 We just got back from the Magic as well. We liked the ship too. The only thing that I'll add is that a Dave & Buster's game card will work just fine instead of your sail and sign card to keep the lights on. LHARTWICK Posted December 29, 2012 Author #30 Share Posted December 29, 2012 The "Elegant" nights were Monday and Friday.
rcarrosq Posted December 29, 2012 #31 Share Posted December 29, 2012 We're going on the Magic tomorrow. Do they have a blow dryer in the cabins?
LHARTWICK Posted December 29, 2012 Author #32 Share Posted December 29, 2012 Yes, but they are the very small, hotel type hairdryers. I recommend bringing your own if you are particular about it (like me). Also, there are two electrical outlets on the vanity area in the cabin. The only outlets in the bathroom are the type that are made only for electric shavers.
rcarrosq Posted December 29, 2012 #33 Share Posted December 29, 2012 Thank you for the quick reply. My hair is short so I guess the hotel kind will do. I'll post a review next week when I return
Soonerbaby Posted December 29, 2012 #34 Share Posted December 29, 2012 The "Elegant" nights were Monday and Friday. Thank you! I booked the Steak House for Wednesday, so I wanted to make sure it wasn't an elegant night.
LHARTWICK Posted December 29, 2012 Author #35 Share Posted December 29, 2012 You're welcome! We would love to have done the New Year's cruise, but they are just so expensive! Have fun!!!
