cruisepuke Posted December 21, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 21, 2012 Maybe I'm not using the right search terms, but I need information on what I need to send with my son (12) as he cruises next week with his Grandparents. I have checked Royal's site and can't find the info I need. He already has : 1) Passport 2) Medical Release signed by both of us 3) Itinerary signed by both of us 4) Contact info for us in the event someone (Royal, Customs) needs to call us Anyone have knowledge of how this works? Thank you!

leaveitallbehind Posted December 21, 2012 #3 Share Posted December 21, 2012 Along with the notarized letter granting permission to travel, be sure to also include same indicating medical permission to them as well, plus all reguired ID (birth certificate or passport as prefered or required). Your checklist seems to have this covered.
setsail Posted December 21, 2012 #4 Share Posted December 21, 2012 It's under family documents on the rci site, here is some of it Family Legal Documents x Should the last names of the parent and minor child traveling with them differ, the parent is required to present the child’s valid passport and visa (if required) and the child’s birth certificate (original, a notarized copy or a certified copy). The name of the parent(s) and the child must be linked through legal documentation. Adults who are not the parent or Legal Guardian of any minor child traveling with them are required to present the child’s valid passport and visa or the child’s birth certificate (original, a notarized copy or a certified copy) and an original notarized letter signed by at least one of the child’s parents. The notarized letter from the child’s parent must authorize the traveling adult to take the child on the specific cruise, must authorize guardian to sign legal documentation/waivers for participation in any activities requiring them (i.e. Rock Climbing, Flowrider, Bungee Trampoline, Inline Skating, or Ice Skating) and must authorize the traveling adult to supervise the child and permit any medical treatment that must be administered to the child. If a non-parent adult is a Legal Guardian, the adult must present a certified certificate of Guardianship with respect to the child.
Wilda Posted December 21, 2012 #5 Share Posted December 21, 2012 We just got off the ship with our 12 year old GS...and yes the GP's will need some documentation ( our 5th cruise with him on RCI). They need a notarized letter signed by both parents (if applicable) and the GP's that states: Airline flight info Ship information that includes ports being visited and dates Permission to receive medical treatment Permission to participate in shipboard activities (you will need this for flow rider, rock climbing, etc) Medical insurance card We always have a couple of copies just in case. They will need this documentation during checkin and also when signing up for onboard activities. Please come back and let us know how he enjoyed it! hollon Posted December 21, 2012 #6 Share Posted December 21, 2012 maybe an insurance card from the parents JUST incase he needs medical attention on the ship or off the ship for sure. Know if he is allergic to anything. make sure the parents know the ship's name and phone number and you have theirs, everything will be fine, but these are things Just Incase. Have fun :)
jamesr3939 Posted December 21, 2012 #7 Share Posted December 21, 2012 Scan every thing and Email it to yourself. That way if you are stuck somewhere you can pull it up and print it.
