tying up VOS at the OPT.

Recommended Posts

There was a question asked a few weeks ago on these pages about how they tie up the Front of Voyager . here's some snapshots to try to answer the question. First though, it involves two boats, and a big white sunken rope that sinks to the bottom of the harbour when not in use, but which is attached by a small rope to the end of the concrete pier that the bigger of the two boats stays at.this small rope is winched aboard bringing with it the big white rope. Are you still with me. There are six men involved in this rigmorole and two boats. Two green lines from the ship are then towed by the small boat , then they pass these ropes through the eye of the big white rope then take it back to the ship which pulls it all tight. This took over half an hour.
