alwalaska Posted December 23, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2012 The 2013 schedule is out for Portland, Maine. I have heard it mentioned that the new port is farther away than the old port, but the schedule has three acronyms. I can't find any descriptions on the port web site. Can anyone help? They are POT, P2B2, and OG. OG seems to be only very small ships.

alwalaska Posted December 25, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted December 25, 2012 The Dawn docks at the end of town very close to the Shipyard Brewery . On this year's schedule she docks at both berths. Our week is the same berth as last year, so I guess that is the newer dock that is farther away from everything. Merry Christmas and thanks for your help. sail7seas Posted December 26, 2012 #4 Share Posted December 26, 2012 Any idea where Veendam doing a one time 7 day cruise stopping in Portland in August will dock? The date of that cruise is August 17.

biker@sea Posted December 26, 2012 #6 Share Posted December 26, 2012 After looking at the travelweekly photo I realized the new dock is next to the old dock. The taxis , Pedicab, hop on / hop off bus , The Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad and the horse and buggies are all in that one area. We did go in the new terminal it is small but efficient . SBtS Thanks. I know P2B2 isn't that much farther, but with 2 out of the 6 in our group having mobility issues, knowing that we are at the closer dock with 10 minutes less walking is very helpful for me. I couldn't locate the port at first on the GPS map, but then I put in the address of 14 Ocean Gateway pier, and it popped right in. Thanks to both you and BikeratSea for all the info. The Maine State Pier had obstuctions on the pier deck . There were ramps that went up over and back down over some pipies or something as I recall . We docked bow in . If you used the forward elevator it was not a problem . If you deboat midship there may be obstacles .

NCL sometimes has more than one door open, so if that is the case, we will try and go to the one closest to town based on whether or not we face bow in as well.
