Booking on board question

Maybe a stupid question, can we use the booking onboard (reduced deposit, OBC) feature on a RCCL ship for a Celebrity cruise? Also, would our Emerald RCCL status get us the balcony discount on Celebrity?

THANKS!:)

Yes you can book a Celebrity cruise while on RCI. Celebrity does not offer a balcony discount.

Your question was answered above, I just wanted to clarify that the Celebrity booking is specific to Celebrity. In other words, if you purchase a Royal Next Cruise certificate, it cannot be used on Celebrity. Likewise, if you purchase a Celebrity Passage (same as Royal NC), it can only be used on Celebrity.

On our last cruise, we were told that if we booked a specific cruise, cabin, etc. and later decided that was not the one we wanted, we could change that reservation to another RCCL, Celebrity or Azamara cruise or get our money refunded. If you buy a next cruise credit, it must be for a specific line, RCCL, Celebrity or Azamara and can not be interchanged and is not refundable. Someone did mention yesterday that they had used a next cruise credit to book a cruise and then later had to cancel and got their money back, so maybe you could change between lines also.

As far as balcony discounts, Celebrity does not give balcony discounts as part of their loyalty program. Just have to watch prices and special rates (ie. senior, resident, military, etc.) We usually are able to use our stockholders' credit on Celebrity.

Your RCCL loyalty status will be honored on Celebrity with their comparable rank.

Hope this helps a little. Kathryn

Yes, I booked our Celebrity cruise while on Majesty. Celebrity does not do balcony discounts at all, but in our case the Summit was way cheaper than Jewel even with the Jewel balcony discount. So unless something happens with the price, in April 2014 we will do the Summit instead of Jewel out of San Juan. We like the itin better on Summit also.
