Cruisin4US Posted December 31, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2012 Where is the best place to be on the Sun to be one of the first off the ship when you're doing self-assist disembarkation? We now need to make sure we are off asap since the airline just changed the times of our flight leaving Miami. Thank you!
Canagirl Posted December 31, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 31, 2012 On our cruise, if you waited on Deck 6 on deck just a little bit down from the Stardust Theatre you'd about be at the disembarkation spot.
jdvmd Posted January 2, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2013 Also check with Guest Services during the week and ask specifically where the line will begin.
NMLady Posted January 2, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 2, 2013 Good luck! Our experience was that folks started lining up more than an hour before the ship even docked. We couldn't even get off the elevator because the lines were backed up two across solidly to the elevators.
cacj Posted January 2, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 2, 2013 Depending on the airline policy, since they changed your schedule, you might be able to call them and rebook a later flight to avoid such stress. Also, be sure that you are carrying all your bags....if you don't you won't be allowed to leave early. We had two couples who tried to get off in the early groups, and they did not have their luggage. They held up the exit line for at least 10 minutes arguing that they wanted to leave early. NCL had a senior officer pull them off the line and turn them back. The flyer is very clear about times and under what conditions folks can leave early. And just a general note to all, when leaving the ship you must have your key card for that final swipe....that also delays the line as people rummage through purses and pockets looking for the key cards.:)
fergusonvt Posted January 2, 2013 #6 Share Posted January 2, 2013 In 2011 we were told to line up at 7:30 right near guest services (don't remember the deck) however due to non-US passengers not going to their scheduled customs check we didn't walk off until almost 9:30.
