zwallace Posted January 1, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2013 We will arrive off of the Victory on Monday, February 4. We plan to rent a car to drive up the coastline to Charleston, S.C. and visit with our son and his family. What would be our least expensive options? Should I go with Priceline, or contact a car rental agency directly? Which agencies would offer a free shuttle to the pick up point? Thanks for any suggestions and information. JohninDC Posted January 1, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 1, 2013 Check prices at your favorite travel web site and then do some homework on www.betterbidding.com before trying Priceline. National, Alamo and Thrifty offer free shuttles from POM to their MIA airport locations. Hertz also offers free shuttles from POM to their downtown Miami location. Good luck! :)
floridasun lover Posted January 2, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2013 I dont believe priceline or hotwire let you do one way rentals. Cars have to be returned to same location where rented.
zwallace Posted January 3, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted January 3, 2013 You are correct, they only allow one way rentals. We booked Budget last night with a 25% discount for AARP with Budget. Difference in price will get us taxi fare to the airport. They also gave us a full size car for same price as smaller car.
