Snorkeling vs Atlantis Submarine

Recommended Posts

We are avid and experienced snorkelers, and have snorkeled several of the Grand Cayman sites from shore. This trip, I am considering the opportunity to see some deeper stuff, without having to get SCUBA certified, by booking Atlantis Submarine. Any advice from those who have done both? Can you see much more from the sub than you can snorkeling?

What about doing a Snuba instead? The little helmets that you wear for oxygen and is attached to something up on top of the water but it allows you to go to the bottom by the fish without having to scuba. Does this makes sense? Have you seen or considered these?

Have done "Discover Scuba" and can free dive to about 30'. The attraction of the Atlantis is the opportunity to see deeper stuff. They say Atlantis goes down to approx. 100'. Does it get close enough to the reef and/or walls to see anything you would not see snorkeling to 30'?
