billb1981 Posted January 17, 2013 #651 Share Posted January 17, 2013 Radio...which sailing will you be on in May with the Allure? My fiancee and I will be on our honeymoon on May 12th, rather than call in to my family, I'll just have them read your blog. We'll stop by every afternoon to give you our update. :)
Rare Radio Posted January 17, 2013 Author #652 Share Posted January 17, 2013 The new Panoramic Ocean View Cabins on Deck 7/8 are very nice. . . I don't think they should be called "Panoramic View" though. . . The windows are not ceiling to floor (that had been previously suggested), but they are nice and roomy. The windows are larger than a normal Ocean View (Decks 2-3-4). The night stands do not have pull out drawers. . .just shelves. The bathrooms are nice, but I was surprised they had a standard shower curtain instead of the circular (Voyager/Freedom/Oasis) style showers. Here are a few pics I took of the cabin. . . Radio A wall was place between the Centrum un the hallway for the new cabins. The Cabins are quite roomy, with the Bed and Sofa position that alternates between cabins There seems to be alot of storage area This Ocean View Cabin uses the same configuration as a Balcony Cabin (Just no Balcony) The bathrooms remind me of Oasis Class cabins (shelving) These cabins will be very popular . counsdr Posted January 17, 2013 #654 Share Posted January 17, 2013 Thanks for the detailed cabin pictures Radio! Were these cabins just like the ocean views on 2,3,4, before they put in the new large windows? Cheryl
Rare Radio Posted January 17, 2013 Author #655 Share Posted January 17, 2013 Thanks for the detailed cabin pictures Radio! Were these cabins just like the ocean views on 2,3,4, before they put in the new large windows? Cheryl No they were not like the Ocean Views on 2-3-4 at all. . . They had the same configuration of a Balcony Cabin. . .with a large window. These are only on Deck 7-8 (in place of the old Concierge Lounge, Library, Future Cruise Area, and Internet Cafe) Radio ;);)
counsdr Posted January 17, 2013 #656 Share Posted January 17, 2013 Thanks for the info Radio! I sailed her in 98 and 99 so she's had quite a few changes since then! We had a handicap ocean view cabin on Deck 2 or 4, so it wasn't a typical configuration. Cheryl
Oshawapilot Posted January 17, 2013 #657 Share Posted January 17, 2013 I was surprised to see that the bridge wings looked open in some of the pics - I hadn't paid that much attention until seeing one of Radio's pictures. Sure enough I Googled it, and yep - open wings. I'm sure that in particularly crappy, cold, windy, (and sometimes snowy) weather arrivals in Baltimore there's a few crew members cursing that design decision. ;)

lbw Posted January 17, 2013 #666 Share Posted January 17, 2013 The new Panoramic Ocean View Cabins on Deck 7/8 are very nice. . . . Were these cabins occupied? Are they available to book yet? I have checked several TA websites and haven't found one that shows them on their deck plans. When you pull up the available cabins, the plans still show the public spaces (library/concierge club/etc) in those locations on deck 7 and 8. On the RCCL site I can see the new cabins on the general deck plan, but I could not find them available on several test booking dates I tried. Maybe they're all booked up already? kmp70 Posted January 18, 2013 #671 Share Posted January 18, 2013 I loved the Enchantment of the Seas Centrum. . . It sems beautiful day or night ! Radio The Beautiful Centrum on board . Radio, I just love the centrum picture, love how you can see all the way to the top. I haven't been on enchantment, but other RC ships, Carnival and Princess, and I think this is my favorite one! Its open/airy, with all the windows, lets alot of light in I would assume as well. Not dark like some other centrums/or with big art hanging down from the ceilings blocking the view to the top. Love your live posts, I'm supposed to cruise in Oct (if I find a job) so it makes me excited to go cruising again reading your posts. Its wonderful of you to take the time to post all the pictures, comments etc. your posts are always so easy to follow and read, and the pictures are awesome. Until your next live post..... :)

Not dark like some other centrums/or with big art hanging down from the ceilings blocking the view to the top. The centrum used to have a huge piece of sculpture hanging in it - it was removed during the recent refit. Here's the "before" picture. It was still pretty airy & bright, but a lot more cluttered in the air (sculpture and all the wiring/rigging) as well as on the floor itself (seating, etc). I think I like the new setup a lot better. ladybug1s Posted January 18, 2013 #675 Share Posted January 18, 2013 Trust me I know that the government plans still have that, now whether the ship itself is included was the question mark. Most providers do not offer unlimited plans to 'regular' customers. It's a government perk Right, unless your grandfathered in, like I am. My kids don't have unlimited but I do. :(
