jake97 Posted January 5, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2013 Thinking of booking their Sunset Jamaica Grande day pass and they say you can add on Dunn River; First how far from cruise port (ocho Rios) and resort? Alternatively is there a really really nice beach we could go to from Dunn River? Have heard beach at Falls is no that great. Thanks
SNJCruisers Posted January 6, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2013 Thinking of booking their Sunset Jamaica Grande day pass and they say you can add on Dunn River; First how far from cruise port (ocho Rios) and resort? Alternatively is there a really really nice beach we could go to from Dunn River? Have heard beach at Falls is no that great. Thanks Go to jamaicaforaday website....they have 3 different all inclusive resorts to choose from that originate from the Ocho Rios port. One is the one you mentioned, another is the Jewel Runaway Bay and the third is the Jewel Dunn's River. The Dunn's River AI is adults only and the other two accept kids. The two Jewel resorts are higher rated on Tripadvisor than the Sunset Jamaica Grande and jamaica for a day offers the add on to Dunn's River as an option as well. I would compare the two jewel resorts and read up about them on tripadvisor and then make your decision. I just looked at the jamaicaforaday site.....the add the falls option is only available with two of the resorts. The Jewel Dunn's River is 99 bucks for anyone 18+ and it includes 12 minute transfer from ship to falls, 12 minute transfer from falls to resort and 12 minute transfer from resort to ship, as well as admission to the falls and the all inclusive at the resort. The sunset jamaica grande is 95.00 for those 16+, 75 for those 11-15 and 70 for those 6-10, and it includes falls and all transfers as well. The jewel runaway bay does not offer a side trip to the falls, but it does have a nice looking beach. It's 80.00 for those 14+ and 65 for those 6-13. Those prices include transportation from the ship and the all inclusive at the resort. Good luck
