is there public beach area or just the resort? Looking for an area that has a beach bar (buckets of beer for a decent price) and chairs/umbrellas for rent but dont want to sit at a hotel. What is the water like, i.e snorkelling? Thanks for any info - have been to Sapphire & Magens before.

You would be disappointed with the beach as compared to Sapphire. The Bolongo Bay Resort is there and I believe they offer day passes for use of chairs, etc. But the only thing we go there for is to have drinks at Iggie's, one of the few beach bars on STT.

My first recommendation for a beach that meets your needs is Sapphire (buckets of beer, chairs, good snorkeling). If you'd like a livelier vibe than Sapphire Coki Beach would be perfect, it's a much smaller bay and has a busier vibe. There are several vendors and beach bars there.
