FTTF Line same as VIP

Bit of advice thought, don't push your way to the front of the VIP line saying that you're not only VIP, but VVVIP, something that I had a guest do at work once...it was hysterical....and then the guests in that line showed him to the end of it....I didn't even have to open my mouth....

LOL! Someone tried that on the Breeze US Inaugural line......"But I'm more of a VIP". Oh brother.... somehow he got up there anyway. Then later on we beat him to be first in the Red Frog Pub and he wasnt pleased about that.

FTTF folks go to the same check-in line as platinum/diamond, but they are NOT escorted into the VIP lounge. Nor do they board with or before them. They board after the weddings, platinum/diamond, etc, and just before they start calling all the zones.

That's how check-in/boarding worked for those with FTTF in our group last month....

For my cruise out of Miami in August, there was a separate check in line for FTTF.

. . . So if you are the type that gets bored in your hotel and show up early anyways, you probably don't need this, unless the room access and luggage is worth $50 to you.

Heck, for those who are savvy, those two things can even be free. Although I am not advocating it . . . it is certainly possible.

Book the FTTF 'excursion', print your documents and luggage tags, cancel the excursion . . . Voila.

Have I ever done it? - NO.

Would I ever do it? - NO

But it's possible.

Hi, Deb!! :)

I'm sorta out of the 'Carnival Loop' these days, so I don't know what that means.

Does the RFP do something special for its first arrivals?? I guess that could be pretty cool if so.

Take care, my friend!!

I don't know if it would really work...you definitely would get by the security and porters, but once you get to the desk, they won't have your keys and once they realize that you cold FTTF they would probably send you to the regular que and have a regular zone card...

As for the room ready, anyone can open the door and go down...the sign says VIP and FTTF only, but no one will stop you....but your room might not be cleaned...it's a crap shoot...

I guess I don't see the need for you to post another way to cheat! You say you aren't advocating it, but you are encouraging others to steal, Wow, just wow.

I would like to know how the tendering process works with the FTTF.

For eg. Belize is a tendering port and anyone who has booked through Carnival for an excursion gets off first.

So my question is? If you have FTTF but you don't book your excursion through carnival and you need to tender early, how does that work?

 people tell me they don't do zone cards  .

depends on what time you arrive at the pier. We arrived at 1:00 and they were calling zone 7. We were not given a zone number.

We did check in, went to our cabin- checked out the balcony and was sitting at a table after getting our food and the time was 2:10.

so my question- do the people who purchase the FTTF have PRIORITY on their passes/luggage tags too?

Advocating and Encouraging are perfect synonyms, so I'm going to stick with NO, I do not think anyone should attempt to acquire something they don't rightfully deserve.

Carnival has a variety of 'loopholes' that can be easily brought to light. If they fail to close them even after they've been earlier recognized, perhaps the shame-finger might be pointed elsewhere.

The building had two entrances...the left was VIP and FTTF(closer to the buses)...the right side was regular people...

There will be a big sign...I love the port of Miami....this weekend I get to try out Baltimore....I'm already scared  people tell me they don't do zone cards

I did Baltimore last February. Once you get your cards in the lounge your are escorted to the end of the lines to get your photo taken. We got there around noon. So its not like any of the Fla port where you are taken on the ship from the lounge. You just get to board with withever zone is currently boarding.

My SIL who has MS & uses a walker was with us. She was offered a wheel chair but there was a wait 30min to an hour for one & she didn't want to wait. I hope they are better prepared this year when we go.

And here's exhibit number 1, with photo credit to CruiserDeb.

All being led to PRIORITY. and right into the VIP lounge.

It was ALWAYS explained as the FTTF would go through SECURITY with the VIPs....

then they branch off to their prospective locations...

VIP to the VIP room (or counter or desk or whatever)

FTTF to the FTTF room (or counter or desk or whatever)

There is no more VIP so think this is a non-issue.

that was what I was rying to find out. How do the people working the gates at the ports know where to send people-

how do they know to send Platiunum to one areas and FTTF to another area.

there is nothing special about my luggage tags or boardingpasses that state I am a platinum cruiser

Your boarding pass should display your VIFP number and level, ours does.

It's all Priority. FTTF is not rolled out to all ships AFAIK and is such a limited program that I also think it is a non-issue. If there are lines, it is because there are zillions of Platinums.

Thats it in a nut shell! Carnival open the doors for shortcuts as to reaching Platinum in 2012. Zillions indeed How will Carnival fit all the VIFP Platinums ,FTTF people in those r:eek::eek:ms I'd say next year at this time the only thing allowed in the Priority VIFP rooms will be Diamond members ;) Its like having several streams leading to one single entrance .

Get ready for a FLOOD !

The number of FTTF people are negligible.

There are zillions of Platinums, no shortcut required. There probably aren't enough Diamonds yet to justify a separate area but the day will come.

Despite people saying they are done with Carnival, they keep coming back. :p

So you mean the drama of them letting the FTTF people on that side (with the REAL VIPs) isn't really warranted??

I wonder why people make a big deal about getting on first....I tried the program purely because it was new and liked the idea of it...would I do it again....no.

I liked the fact of priority cabin access and luggage early...loved the guest service line, but usually never use, and forced myself, instead of going in the early am when I used to go, to go when it was busy, just because I could...you know, for research

I think that if you are the type to get to port early (I'm an early riser....and that forces my sister to wake up...not that I ever would rip open the drapes and scream CRUISE DAY and throw pillows at her...) and usually get a zone card under #10 I don't think it's necessary...I don't picture myself ever making the Redfrog first customer dash and don't need to be first on the ship...I just don't want to be in a line down the block and around the building....

So if you are the type that gets bored in your hotel and show up early anyways, you probably don't need this, unless the room access and luggage is worth $50 to you.

I however will be trying the new CHEERS program in 4 days....you know, for research

Great Post! Thanks for the laugh at work.

We'll be sailing out of Miami on the Glory and I was wondering about the embark area now that we're Platinum.

I, like yourself, don't really care if I'm first on board. Yes, I'm excited and all but I'm not "one of those".. You know, the ones that "always have to be first on and off, or first in line at the red light". Geesh.

All I know is I'm on vacation and want to relax. Embark day is always crazy whether you're first or last on board.

I do like the idea I can dump my carry-ons and go to lunch not having to look after a bag or two.

I love your line about screaming CRUISE DAY at your sister. I think I'll try that with my friends.

And, BTW, I used to live in Franklin, right next to Bellingham!!!

44 days. Woot woot! :D:D

Hi there,

If you're Platinum, your luggage tags will read PRIORITY. It used to read VIP.

You will be directed to the correct line because your cruise doc or boarding pass which you should print when checking in on line prior to cruising. (This is what needs to be shown with your passport) You'll be shown to the Priority lounge. (used to be called VIP) Or whatever they're calling the area for Diamond/Platinum cruisers.

Have a great cruise. :)

Sheesh, all you VIP snobs who don't want to share a lounge is what this is all about? You realize, that once you board, you share the rest of the public space with everyone, VIP or not right?

Just charter your own ship and you won't have to bother with the riff raffs.

nothing to do with being a snob.

I hurried my bookings so I can be platinum not knowing I could have saved money because I coulda paid for the stuff instead
