Mine disappears occasionally also. It usually reappears after I have logged out and cleared my cache.

My search button was gone, but now it is back. However when I try to use it I get an error message so it might as well have stayed gone.

I see it now too but it isn't working.

The search function was disabled most of the day. Tapatalk depends on it and the n error message confirming it was disabled showed up all day. Working again a few minutes ago.

Search button is there for me but I get an error message when I try to search entire posts for keywords.

As a workaround, you can google site:cruisecritic.com <your search terms here> and posts will show up.

You can use the large search button at the top of the page (in the banner area) just put in what you are looking for, like specialty dining on Star and it will give you threads.
