However, it is not unusual for a GTY not to be assigned until a few days before the cruise.

I'm on your cruise, and we got our cabin assignment about 30 minutes after we booked (at Thanksgiving).

 

Don't worry, though. I got one of my best upgrades less than 24 hours before we sailed on the Coral Princess a couple years ago.
