Suzanne123 Posted January 11, 2013 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2013 For the CSA Custom Luxe insurance purchased not within the first few weeks, but prior to final payment, to receive coverage for pre-existing conditions, must one cover all pre-paid non-refundable costs? I am most interested in the medical and evacuation coverages. Thanks.
Suzanne123 Posted January 11, 2013 Author #2 Share Posted January 11, 2013 --I couldn't find the answer to Custom Luxe anywhere, but decided to change to the CSA Freestyle because you do not have to insure every last thing in order to get the pre-existing condition waiver. Hope this info is helpful to others: CSA Freestyle and Freestyle Luxe Pre-Existing Condition Exclusion Waiver CSA will waive the Pre-existing Condition exclusion if you meet the following requirements: You must purchase the CSA Freestyle or Freestyle Luxe Plan plan prior to or within 24 Hours of your final Trip payment All insured travelers must not be disabled from travel at the time they pay their premium. Just to answer your original question: With the CSA Custom Luxe plan you DO NOT have to insure the full cost of your trip in order to be eligible for the waiver of the pre-existing medical condition exclusion. It's the same as the Freestyle plans. The big advantage of the Freestyle Plans vs the Custom plans is that with the Freestyle plan you get the waiver even with the regular, lower-priced Freestyle plan -- you do not have to step up to the Luxe version as you do with the Custom plans.
