RevNeal Posted January 21, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2013 On formal nights, does the Canaletto restaurant require formal wear? No. The Canaletto is on the Lido deck, and the lido deck is casual in the evening hours.
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 21, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2013 It is smart casual each evening. No shorts. You will find some people dressed up there.
0bnxshs Posted January 21, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 21, 2013 On formal nights, does the Canaletto restaurant require formal wear? On our recent Ryndam cruise, there were a few couples who were dressed in formal attire there, but it was not required wear. As stated above by others, smart casual was perfectly acceptable there on formal nights.
BumperII Posted January 21, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 21, 2013 The meaning of formal night has changed a whole bunch since we started cruising in 2002. On the first cruise, maybe 95% of the men were in Tuxedos and the ladies were dressed to the nines. It really was a wonderful show. Anymore, formal night consists of what was once known as smart casual, for men, sport jacket and tie, and women in sequin encrusted pants suits. Well, it was fun while it lasted, but for me, the glamour of formal nights has been lost. I'm glad I had a chance to experience it before it went out of style.:o
