Im not that technical:( Can I use Wi fi on my ipod touch to send a few facebook messages etc home. Im traveling with my 10 yr old daughter on my own, so like to keep intouch with family back in the UK. Is this possible for free? Also I have a galaxy 2 phone, as long as its on airplane mode is it true i can use phone to take pictures erc, and I wont get a big bill for roaming ???? sorry, so confused!!!!!!:eek: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Rare silentbob007 Posted January 28, 2013 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2013 You cannot get a "free" internet connection on the ship. You have to buy a package or pay per minute. It is possible to use an iPod touch (you'd have to create a wifi account using one of the computer terminals), but again, you'd have to pay. If you want a free connection, you'll have to look for free hotspots at ports of call. If you leave the phone in airplane mode, you won't have any fees for the cellular connection. You can also go into the settings an make sure that data roaming is turned off (not sure where that would be on your phone, but there should be a setting for it).
